Goodbye from the digital edition

Dear readers,

We will unfortunately no longer be publishing a digital edition of Stylist.

I want to take a moment to explain how we’ve come to this tricky decision. We’ve all been very proud of the award-winning Stylist tablet edition which we’ve been publishing for just over the last two years, and know that – like you – we have had many loyal readers who have downloaded and enjoyed the tablet issue regularly.

The vast majority of downloads and readers have been on Apple devices, via the Apple Newsstand. But unfortunately, as you may know, Apple changed their strategy on tablet editions late in 2015 and abruptly closed the Newsstand area on the Apple Store. This has left publishers like ourselves high and dry, without a dedicated marketplace in which we can distribute our edition.

Having considered all feasible options for continuing the service, we have made the decision to cease publishing the edition.

We know this may be disappointing and sincerely apologise for that, but can only reassure you that Stylist remains strongly committed to its print edition which we will continue to distribute every week and of course our fantastic website, where you can also find most of the content you’ll see in print each week. In addition we do have a subscription service where we can post the issue to you for just £1 a week (to cover postage and packaging costs), which is available at stylist.co.uk/subscribe. If you are looking to pick up a free print copy, you can find where they are distributed here: map.shortlistmedia.co.uk.

I hope this goes in some way to reassure you that this is not a decision we have taken lightly.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your loyalty over the past two years, and hope you continue to enjoy Stylist, either in print or on our website, in the future.

Best wishes,

Lisa Smosarski
